Concern

Persona 3 (FES^[1]) had “fun mechanics” like getting into friendship/romance that will benefit gameplay, it had “cast of enjoyable characters” like you know, Mitsuru that you would like to rub, and so on. But for me the grind wasn’t satisfying enough. This made me wonder: “Is this as bad in P4?“ or “Should I try it despite it?“. I like Shin Megami Tensei in general, but I was doubting that it’s worth my time.

First impression

I gave Persona 4 a try. Boi am I excited. Dropping cutesy character like Nanako-chan at the very beginning is godlike design. And those corny scenes like the one on gas station - delicious (I smiled, it’s legit). The cornyness is the joke in english dub I guess, but still, for sake of Nanako-chan going “Every day’s great at your Junes!“ I would like to have jap dub and english subs. Still pretty good. I don’t know how the game itself will work, I only played for like 30 minutes - basically first ingame day after arrival. Oh, also the parallels in characters type between P3 and P4 is also big plus.
